The majority of my teaching career has been with USD 244 Burlington, KS., at Burlington Elementary School.
1981 to Present:
*First Grade Classroom
*Third Grade Classroom

*Physical Education Instructor
*Assistant to the Principal (under Principal Jane Nuessen)
My first teaching position was as the Director/ Instructor at Honey Tree PreSchool, New Strawn, KS. I was offered this position upon graduation from Emporia State University. It was a wonderful jumpstart to my teaching career.
Other experiences that have had an impact on my teaching also include being a swim instructor for many years as well as a reading tutor for children prior to my certification as a teacher.
I have been married to Dave for over 40 years. We have three chidren and five grandchildren. We are both very active in our community, church, and school community. We love supporting the youth in our community as well as being actively involved in non-profit organizations in our community.
When I am not teaching, I love to be with my family. My hobbies include reading, cooking, gardening and exercising. I love to explore and travel to historical sites and new places. I am currently working on a “bucket list” of activities to accomplish!
