I started my teaching career here in Burlington, Kansas in the fall of 1991. I am currently teaching 4th grade. I serve as the science teacher for all 4th grade students.
I have taught several grade levels. I started out teaching in the third grade classroom, moved to 5th grade, and then taught in the Intermediate Multi-Age classroom before becoming a 4th grade teacher.
I married Kavin Bazil in 1980, and was blessed with two children. Amos, our son, lives in Topeka, Kansas and works managing the Kansas City Cargill Grain Elevators and as a helicopter pilot for the Kansas National Gaurd. Our daugher, Melanie Yokum, lives here in Burlington and works as a nurse at Coffey County Medical Center, and also as a beekeeper. Kavin and I enjoy devoting time to our grown childern, five wonderful grandchildren, and our very excitable boxer, Prince!
In my free time I love working in my garden and caring for our chickens. I also enjoy cooking, riding motorcycles, kayaking, biking, and reading!
