I am currently the Gifted Facilitator for Burlington Elementary School, Burlington Middle School, Lebo/Wavery schools, Leroy/Gridley Elementary Schools and Southern Coffey County High School. Although I taught previously in the district, this is my first year after being gone for 12 years.
I began my teaching career in USD 244 as a Business teacher for 5 years. I was formerly the Gifted Facilitator for Coffey County Special Education Cooperative for 12 years serving Burlington Middle School, Burlington High School and the Southern Coffey County schools. I moved to Missouri for several years where I was a Career Educator with Scott Regional Technology Center in Monett, Missouri. After returning to Kansas, I worked for Southeast KANSASWORKS as their Youth Program Director prior to returning to education.
I am married with two children and five grandchildern. My husband, Ed, is retired after being an EMS Director/Paramedic for 40 years. My daughter, Rachel, is married to Zach and has three children – Brody, Ellie and Cade. She lives in Columbia, Missouri and is a Nurse Practitioner. My son, Johann, is married to Joni and has two children – Jaylin and Jace. They live in Burlington. Johann works at Hills Pet in Emporia.
When not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, walking and reading.
